Welcome to Thistledown Alpacas. Thistledown is  a small and friendly family farm run by Adrian , where our breeding, training and general husbandry of our herd is our way of life, they are, our extended family!  

Our aim is to strive to achieve excellence in our breeding and in our fibre production.  All our Alpacas are BAS, or BLAA (BCL) registered, micro chipped and come from excellent Peruvian and Chilean stock and have the most endearing temperaments.  All our Alpacas are ideal for top class breeding or family field pets.  We support all our clients offering our help and advice on all aspects of Alpaca husbandry.  It is so important to us to care for others.

We have a superb and stunning herd which is growing all the time.  It includes three imported females from Peru, Swallow who is a Rose Grey, has outstanding presence and conformation.  She has produced the most wonderful Rose Grey cria, Harvey.  Harvey is very special, you will find more about our herd from the contents menu on the left.  Harvey pictured right, at 8 months of age.  Celine is solid white and has produced a cria, Hugo, who has probably the best fibre we have ever seen on such a stunning little boy.  Rosie our other import is a Silver/Rose Grey and produces the most exquisite cria.  Rosie has presence and stands out amongst the herd.  Harvey can be seen at Thistledown.  Harvey is a Champion and won the Championship Prize for the Best Intermediate Huacaya Male at the Royal Bath & West of England Show 2004.  At the same show, Hugo was the Overall Winner of the Special Prize for the Best Fancy Huacaya. 

All visitors are more than welcome to come and meet us and spend some time with our graceful and angelic Alpacas and experience first hand their magical presence.  Visitors by appointment only, please telephone.
